The 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 comes in six trims and offers powerful engines. The available Duramax® turbodiesel V8 boasts more power and torque this year, along with a higher maximum towing capacity of 22,500 pounds. Meanwhile, the standard gasoline V8 engine is newly mated with an Allison® 10-speed automatic transmission, bringing even higher performance. These engines are rated at 470 horsepower / 975 lb-ft of torque and 401 horsepower / 464 lb-ft of torque, respectively.
