Which Engines are Available? 

Depending on the trim, there are four engine options for the GMC Sierra 1500, including a powerhouse diesel engine. The robust options include:  

• 2.7-liter TurboMax® four-cylinder engine: 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque  

• 5.3-liter V8 engine: 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque 

• 6.2-liter V8 engine: 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque  

• Duramax® 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine: 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque 

How Much Can the GMC Sierra 1500 Tow?  

You’ll always get impressive towing power with new GMC trucks. Maximum towing capacity in the GMC Sierra 1500 comes from the diesel engine. When properly equipped, it helps the truck tow up to 13,300 lbs.  

Is it Good Off-Road?  

There are many features available in the truck that enhance its off-road prowess. For example, the GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 has a factory-installed two-inch suspension lift, two-speed Autotrac® transfer case, and a skid plate. The AT4X model features uniquely tuned springs and specific off-road chassis and tuning. It’s also the only truck in its class offered with front and rear electronic locking differentials. 

What Kind of Technology is Available?  

Available technology includes over 40 inches of driver-focused digital displays available in the GMC Sierra 1500. That includes an available 13.4-inch GMC premium infotainment system with wireless smartphone integration and Google Built-in™ capabilities. The cabin is also available with a 12-speaker Bose® premium series audio system with Centerpoint®.  

How Big is the Truck Bed?  

There are three truck bed sizes available for the full-size truck. It's available with a GMC CarbonPro® composite bed, which offers best-in-class short bed cargo volume (63.9 cubic feet). The short bed is 5’10” and offered with a Crew Cab. The standard 6’7” bed is offered with a Crew Cab, Double Cab, or Regular Cab. The long 8’2” bed is available with a Regular Cab.
