The Size
While the original HUMMER was known primarily for its size, the new version is actually bigger than the one you remember. This new SUV is at least 5.3 inches wider than the old model and around five inches taller.
The Powertrain
A massive gasoline engine powered the old HUMMER SUV, so few would have called it an eco-friendly model. The new HUMMER SUV is a bit different, however. It comes equipped with an all-electric powertrain that won’t require an ounce of gasoline.
This doesn’t mean that the new GMC HUMMER lacks power. These new vehicles produce as much as 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque!
The Capabilities
The old HUMMER was capable, but this new electric model is even better equipped for off-road adventuring. The new GMC HUMMER offers 32 inches of water fording depth and 16 inches of ground clearance. The old HUMMER offered 20 inches of water fording and between 9.5 and 16 inches of ground clearance.
The Technology
We’re long past the days when an in-dash CD player counted as “advanced equipment.” The new model is outfitted with advanced features you won’t find in every SUV. The GMC HUMMER can be equipped with Super Cruise™, which can take over some highway driving duties for you, and Crabwalk™, a feature that allows this SUV to traverse some types of terrain sideways.
