Three Available Engines
The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is available with a number of different trim and configuration options, allowing buyers to choose the option that best works for their needs. Here are the three available engine options:
- 5.3-liter gas engine: The base engine on the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is a 5.3-liter gasoline engine that provides 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, and can tow up to 11,200 lbs.
- 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel: With this engine, achieve best-in-class highway fuel economy, as well as Active Thermal Management. It also boasts responsive acceleration, 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque, and a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 lbs.
- 6.2-liter V8 engine: The most powerful available engine is the 6.2-liter V8, which boasts Dynamic Fuel Management, 420 horsepower, and 460 lb-ft of torque.
Selectable Traction Modes
One of the most exciting available performance features on the new GMC truck is Selectable Traction Modes. This allows drivers to easily switch between available configurations that automatically alter the truck’s performance based on the type of terrain and driving conditions. Available modes include:
